Total Fitouts Illawarra, led by Greg Doherty, recently completed a commercial wellness & beauty fitout for Vita Nuova in Gerringong, NSW. The commercial shop fitout aimed to transform an empty commercial space into a high-end, luxurious environment that aligned with Vita Nuova’s vision of promoting well-being, beauty, and holistic health. The award-winning design fitout features a warm and inviting atmosphere with a natural light beige colour palette, subtle pops of colour, and elements that embrace the coastal location. The scope of work included a reception area, waiting area, massage rooms, a waxing room, a waiting room, and a kitchenette, all designed to create a soothing and relaxing environment for clients.

The commercial fitout design was created by Kellie Quach from the Total Fitouts Surry Hills & Parramatta team, with implementation and fitout executed by Greg and the Total Fitouts Illawarra team. The collaboration between teams ensured a cohesive and high-end luxury wellness and beauty fitout that aligns with Vita Nuova’s vision. Vita Nuova took out the best small design category at our recent 2023 Total Fitouts Conference on the Gold Coast.

The wellness & beauty fitout of Vita Nuova incorporated a stunning colour palette that exudes a sense of natural beauty. The light beige tones create a warm and soothing backdrop, while subtle pops of colour in line with the brand’s identity add a touch of vibrancy. Rebecca Caldwell, Architect and Owner of Maytree Studios said “Lovely interpretation of the brief, using soft colours and curves to soften while maintaining minimal aesthetic.” The design of the commercial fitout is focused on promoting relaxation and well-being, aiming to create an inviting atmosphere for guests. A clean and minimalistic aesthetic is embraced, with meticulous attention to detail. The aim is to establish a serene environment that allows visitors to unwind and rejuvenate.

Greg Doherty and the Total Fitouts Illawarra team transformed an empty commercial space into a soothing and relaxing environment. Starting from the reception area, bespoke carpentry and a terracotta brown bench seat provide both comfort and style for waiting guests. A custom timber VJ panel booth serves as a welcoming space to greet and assist clients, while custom Vita Nuova signage enhances the reception area, contributing to a cohesive and branded look. The merchandise displays feature custom indented wall arch displays with timber and LED lighting, elegantly showcasing the brand’s products.

Moving into the treatment rooms, privacy and tranquility take center stage for the commercial wellness & beauty fitout. Two massage rooms and a waxing room were designed to offer a peaceful haven for clients. High-quality massage beds and treatment equipment have been carefully selected by Greg and the Total Fitouts Illawarra team to ensure a premium experience. Antique brass round glass wall lights and dimmable ceiling lights created a soothing ambience, setting the mood for relaxation and rejuvenation.

In terms of amenities, a simple yet elegant approach is taken. White and copper elements, such as beige speckled splashback tiling, floor tiling, and large rounded mirrors, create a clean and sophisticated look. Greenery is added with white and terracotta vases, enhancing the overall aesthetic with a touch of nature. The combination of these design elements throughout the commercial fitout was important for Greg and the team to ensure that they met the brief for Vita Nuova. The commercial space exudes a sense of tranquillity and beauty, providing a sanctuary for guests seeking wellness and self-care.
