Red Crane Sushi commercial hospitality fitout by Total Fitouts Sunshine Coast South was an exciting project for client Jenny, located at the bustling Sunshine Coast Plaza. Specialising in Japanese and sushi takeaway, the business called for a modern yet on-brand refurbishment to enhance its customer experience.

The commercial fitout focused mainly on the front-of-house facelift. Commercial designers modernised the space by integrating a new heated display into the counter, installing a chilled display, and upgrading the sushi bar.

The commercial interior design of Red Crane Sushi perfectly balances traditional Asian elements with a sleek, modern aesthetic. A large LED red illuminated signage serves as the focal point, immediately drawing attention. This striking feature is complemented by a warm brick service counter, adding texture and depth to the space. The counter is paired next to timber panelling that mirrors the material behind the signage, creating a cohesive, harmonious look. New tiling was added to the counter, which was also redesigned for a more contemporary look within the commercial hospitality fitout.

The subtle nod to cultural roots blends seamlessly with the contemporary design, ensuring that while the space exudes modernity, it still pays homage to traditional Asian aesthetics. The thoughtful mix of materials and textures creates a welcoming yet visually dynamic environment, making Red Crane Sushi commercial fitout a memorable dining destination.

Rogue Architects led the commercial design, ensuring the refurbishment met the business’s brand identity. However, the project faced challenges, including a strict 10-day turnaround and extensive cleaning required due to the previous tenancy, to meet health and safety standards. Despite these obstacles, the result was a sleek, modern commercial hospitality fitout perfectly suited to the busy location.

The final result is a beautifully refreshed sushi takeaway that captures the essence of modern Asian design while offering a sleek and inviting space for customers. The efficient use of space, combined with thoughtful design elements such as the new illuminated red signage and upgraded counter displays, creates a fresh and dynamic atmosphere, making Red Crane Sushi a standout destination in the busy Sunshine Coast Plaza.
