Situated near the main street, this 160sqm commercial medical fit out was transformed from an empty shell into a sophisticated Ophthalmologist clinic, seamlessly blending into its vibrant surroundings.

Specialising in comprehensive eye care, Insight Eye Surgery offers a range of services from routine check-ups to advanced surgical procedures, leading in cataract surgery and eye care clinic. The clinic embodies a coastal-inspired aesthetic, reflecting the serene beauty of its seaside location. Neutral whites and beiges dominate the palette, accented with touches of black for a modern edge, moving away from the standard sterile clinical space. Timber elements add warmth and texture, evoking a sense of coastal charm.

Collaborating with commercial designers Ellivo Architects, Total Fitouts Sunshine Coast South executed the 8 week commercial medical fitout with precision and attention to detail. From the initial concept to the final installation, every aspect of Insight Eye Surgery reflects a commitment to excellence and innovation in medical design. The commercial ophthalmology fit out scope encompassed creating a welcoming reception area, a comfortable waiting room, three consultation rooms, two specialist rooms, two storage spaces, and a staff kitchen.

Upon entering Insight Eye Surgery, visitors are greeted by a reception area that exudes elegance and professionalism. A curved reception desk serves as the focal point, complemented by neutral stone tiling and sleek black wall lights. Custom-branded signage welcomes patients into the commercial ophthalmology fit out with understated sophistication.

The commercial interior design continues to impress with multiple consultant rooms, each designed to provide a comfortable and calming environment for patients. Black and white optical equipment seamlessly integrates into the space, ensuring both functionality and style. Timber vinyl flooring adds durability while maintaining a cohesive design aesthetic.

Unique design features included an inviting open reception area where the reception area and waiting area are separate to ensure patient privacy. Light fresh coastal coloured flooring with VJ profiled tall doors throughout the clinic were incorporated to further promote the coastal modern feel.

In the eye surgery treatment room, state-of-the-art equipment stands ready to deliver exceptional care, while a neutral colour scheme promotes a sense of tranquility and focus. The kitchen and staff space offer a retreat for team members, featuring modern amenities and ample storage to support daily operations. Throughout the space, coastal-inspired artwork adorns the walls, adding a touch of local flair and personality. Hanging black pendant lights cast a warm glow, creating an inviting atmosphere for patients and staff alike.

A distinct challenge arose when the shopfit experts found themselves initially ahead of schedule, necessitating efforts to accelerate trade timelines. Heath Nicholson, Director at Total Fitouts Sunshine Coast South said, “Delays occurred while awaiting plumbing approval. With the Christmas break and trades taking holiday leave, progress halted entirely during this period. However, we navigated the issue and managed to complete the space within 8 weeks, being on time and to budget.”
