Henry & Co Convenience Kiosk

Creating a Serene Retail Kiosk at Monash Health, Dandenong Hospital.

Hospitals can be a stressful and anxious environment for patients and visitors alike. In such a clinical setting, having a retail kiosk that offers a touch of nature and a serene retreat can make all the difference. This was the goal of Henry & Co, a convenience store located in Monash Health, Dandenong Hospital, Danny Gould, and the team at Total Fitouts Malvern was proud to bring it to life.

Total Fitouts Malvern is a commercial shopfitting business based in Malvern, Victoria. With years of experience in designing and building commercial spaces, the team at Total Fitouts Malvern was well-equipped to create a stunning kiosk for Henry & Co. The goal was to design a space that would be inviting, relaxing, and visually appealing.

Danny worked closely with the owners, and their brand guidelines, to create a retail space that was practical, had ample storage and also had calm, welcoming atmosphere. This can be a challenge within a clinical, brightly lit, hospital environment.

The team started by designing and building a commercial retail space that would showcase Henry & Co’s products effectively. Wooden bespoke shelving was installed to display cakes, delicacies, and drinks, while display cabinets were added to showcase the kiosk’s best-selling items. A coffee bar was also created, complete with sage tiles under the service counter and vertical kit-kat tiles on the walls, giving the space a modern and sophisticated look.

To create a serene and natural feel, the team installed vertical gardens and feature lighting, which provided a soothing ambience to the space. Wooden finishes were also added to give the kiosk a warm and inviting feel. Large concrete effect floor tiles were laid, providing an industrial feel that contrasted well with the other natural elements of the space. Verdant greenery, stylish tiles, wooden features, soft lighting and a natural colour pallete bring the whole design together.

One of the most impressive features of the kiosk is the bespoke branded signage and quirky quotes. LED lit perfectly highlighting the brand logo and personality of the space. Cute word quotes like ‘coffee me’ and ‘must haves’ feature throughout. This clever signage and wordplay add to the overall ambiance of the space. The kiosk’s branding is cohesive, with the signage perfectly complementing the wooden finishes and natural elements. 

Creating a retail kiosk within a hospital is a unique challenge, and the team at Total Fitouts Malvern rose to the occasion. The Henry & Co kiosk is a retreat within a clinical setting, providing patients and visitors with a welcoming space to relax and unwind.
