This Asian street food inspired hospitality fit out, located in the Kenmore Shopping Centre Queensland, was creatively brought to life by Matt Banks and the Total Fitouts Brisbane Inner South team.
The vibey traditional Thai eatery, famous for its drunken chicken and Chu Chee Soft Shell crab, was previously a defitted, vacant tenancy. The owners, who also own Sushi Edo, wanted to transform the blank canvas into an eye-poppingly colourful and welcoming space. They desired a memorable dining experience for their customers, featuring bespoke shelving, a modern low-lit bar, ample storage, a functional workspace and don’t forget the ‘wow factor’.
Matt and the team were tasked with interpreting the client’s design and transformed the empty shell into a simple, yet memorable, hospitality fit out. Behind the scenes a full commercial kitchen was installed featuring ample work benches, fridges, shelving, storage, and gas cooktops.
Front of house (FOH), the existing concrete was polished and tired brickwork painted with a matt finish to contrast the texture render feature walls and artworks. The addition of bespoke dining booths (featuring beautiful chevron upholstery), aluminium panelling, vertical gardens and outdoor bar style seating transformed the space.

Led strip lighting was installed along the shelves to create atmosphere and well positioned downlights were fitted to accentuate feature artwork. Bespoke neon signage was wired in to stylishly showcase the brand and an oversized Asian street scene graffiti mural was sprayed along one side of the space. 6 coloured windows, inspired by a famous Phuket landmark the Ancient House, were fitted to complete the eclectic space.
Matt and the Total Fitouts Brisbane Inner South team expertly managed the construct and build project, delivering bespoke finishes, custom timber joinery and timber finishes. The result an eye-popping, vibey, tasty hospitality fit out.
