Brazzos Smokehouse commercial hospitality fitout by Total Fitouts Sunshine Coast South was an exciting project for client Tiago, located in the bustling Sunshine Coast Plaza. Specialising in Brazilian BBQ, this commercial fitout aimed to bring the outdoor BBQ experience into a busy food court, capturing the rustic essence of the brand, which also runs the Brazzo Boys food truck.

The commercial hospitality fitout features a timber-heavy design, highlighted by prominent LED signage that draws customers in. The interior fitout included a fully functional BBQ setup, complete with a large BBQ oven, a frying area, prep and cooking benches, an under bench fridge, TV screens for menus mounted to the bulkhead, a Combi oven, and two bain-marie units. A unique challenge was the massive BBQ oven, which had to be integrated seamlessly into the space.

The commercial interior design of Brazzo Smokehouse masterfully blends rustic charm with modern functionality, creating an authentic BBQ atmosphere. The centerpiece in the commercial fitout is the rustic timber service counter, which sets the tone for the entire space, evoking a warm and inviting feel that reflects the brand’s outdoor BBQ roots.

Heath Nicholson, Director at Total Fitouts Sunshine Coast South says, “The timber’s raw texture adds an earthy, authentic vibe that perfectly aligns with the Brazilian BBQ experience.”

Complementing the counter are the timber food benches, which maintain a cohesive aesthetic while providing functional workspaces for food preparation and service.

A large LED sign stands out, adding a modern touch to the rustic theme. This illuminated feature draws attention and reinforces the Brazzo Smoke House brand, seamlessly integrating traditional and contemporary elements within the commercial hospitality fitout.

Ash from Ellia Design led the commercial design, ensuring the rustic aesthetic blended with functionality. Heath adds, “The team faced difficulties with a bulkhead that was built before the plans were finalised, requiring adjustments just a week before handover. Additionally, scanning the concrete revealed structural challenges only after cutting into the site, and managing the exhaust system within a shopping centre presented mechanical engineering hurdles to direct smoke appropriately.”

Despite these challenges, the result was a beautifully rustic and functional BBQ space that brought the outdoors into a modern food court setting.

The efficient use of space, combined with thoughtful design elements like timber-heavy finishes and striking LED signage, creates a warm and dynamic atmosphere, making Brazzo Smokehouse a standout destination in the busy Sunshine Coast Plaza.
