When the demand for their Filipino cakes outgrew their home kitchen Angelli and her family knew it was time to make the leap into their own commercial kitchen and shop front. The client’s design brief was clear and simple – candy coloured, eye-popping, bright purple ube and enticing green banana leaves. The colour was the inspiration for Rooty Hill’s brightest new cake shop – Tita’s Cakes.
An eye-popping hospitality fitout
Step forward Natalie and Chris Lautier aka Total Fitouts Penrith who took this brief and created Angelli’s dream commercial hospitality fit out. The husband and wife time were involved in the project for over 12 months – from design and concept, through planning and approvals, to build and handover. The result, a unique retail experience and a very happy business owner.
Natalie says “We were engaged as the designers and builders and are truly honoured to be a part of such a bright and alluring project.”
The project started life as a blank canvas. The back area was transformed by the team in to a practical, functional commercial kitchen, including giant ovens and storage. Clean, white and grey base colour scheme was added all around to ground the space. The additional of bright green and purple was added to meet the client’s brief, adding contrast and elements of pop (perfect to match the vibrant colours of Angelli’s popular cakes).

The bespoke front counter was perfectly proportioned in the space, acting as a focal point for customer interaction. The large, visually appealing, refrigerated cake display, was integrated into the counter, providing the perfect vessel to showcase the tasty treats whilst keeping them fresh.
The sturdy, over sized counter showcases a beautiful, yet practical, Caeserstone benchtop. LED lit VJ panel add extra visual appeal to an already spectacular space. Chris and Natalie’s in-house joinery team had all the skills to seamlessly deliver this bespoke carpentry feature.
