Total Fitouts Illawarra recently completed an exceptional commercial hospitality fitout for Meats & Greet BBQ. This Korean BBQ and teppanyaki restaurant is nestled in the bustling Kiama Village Shopping Centre, providing a vibrant dining option for locals and visitors alike. Meats & Greet BBQ specialises in a full Asian cuisine menu, offering both lunch and dinner options for dine-in and takeaway. The restaurant exudes a modern, stylish aesthetic with its dark, bronze, and gold finishes that create a rich and luxurious feel.
The project involved a comprehensive interior fitout encompassing multiple spaces and elements. The total area of 190 sqm includes a dining area of 119 sqm, a kitchen of 47 sqm, a bar and service area of 11 sqm, and a waiting area of 9 sqm. Key features of the project include a full commercial kitchen with a mechanical range hood and dining exhaust system, a cool room, ceilings and plasterboard, painting, tiling, joinery, booths and seating, and a full shopfront construction with glazing. Additionally, the electrical, plumbing, and signage were all meticulously handled to ensure a seamless and functional space.
The commercial interior design of Meats & Greet BBQ are distinct, with the overall design expertly crafted by Carley Austin of Emvy Designs, ensuring a cohesive and aesthetically pleasing result. The style and mood are characterised by dark, bronze, and gold finishes, complemented by timber accents and mustard-coloured upholstery. The stained timber walls and vinyl graphics enhance the sophisticated ambience, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for diners. The commercial hospitality fitout incorporated unique and general features such as upholstered booths, custom lighting, LED strips, and comprehensive shopfront glazing and signage.
However, the project was not without its challenges. Similar to issues faced with another fitout, the Spot Cafe, there were significant delays due to the base building’s large setbacks, including roof leaks and incomplete external concrete work that hindered the completion of the shopfront. These issues caused a 3-4 week pause during the project’s timeline, extending the total duration to approximately 8-12 weeks.
Despite these challenges, Total Fitouts Illawarra successfully delivered a high-quality, functional, and visually striking commercial fit out for Meats & Greet BBQ, setting the stage for clients Ping and Mike’s culinary venture to thrive in the vibrant Kiama Village Shopping Centre.
