Total Fitouts Wide Bay accomplished a remarkable transformation with Giovanni’s Pizza Bar commercial hospitality fitout, turning a former office space into an enticing and attractive pizza shop. The project’s primary scope was to create a brand-new pizza shop that would appeal to anyone walking past, leveraging a much-improved street location compared to its previous hidden setting.

The space, which once functioned as an office, underwent a significant metamorphosis under the expert guidance of Total Fitouts Wide Bay. The commercial interior design was conceptualised by the Total Fitouts Wide Bay team, led by Warren and Annet. The inspiration for the infamous wall design feature drew from Giovanni’s home town in Italy, with vinyl prints showcasing the big picture and encouraging patrons to take selfies—a key factor in enhancing the overall customer experience.

The commercial hospitality shopfit unfolded over a three-month period, with meticulous attention to detail. Prior to the commercial fitout, the space lacked grease traps, and three-phase power was installed to accommodate the ovens—a crucial element for a pizza shop.

Noteworthy features of the commercial fit out include the effective utilisation of a small area, ensuring that every surface is well-suited to a kitchen environment. The use of aluminium composite panelling allowed for full-height coverage, ensuring a food-safe and hygienic setting.

However, the project faced its share of challenges. The installation of the hood revealed complications that required careful handling. There was also a delay in the upgrade of power for the ovens, extending the project timeline. Additionally, a minor hiccup occurred when the wrong tiles were delivered, necessitating a quick and efficient resolution.

Throughout the process, Giovanni’s Pizza proved to be a fun client to work with, and the end result showcased not only a visually appealing space but also a venue that offers great food. Total Fitouts Wide Bay’s expertise in navigating challenges and collaborating with the client and suppliers resulted in the successful creation of a welcoming and efficient pizza shop, contributing to the revitalisation of the commercial hospitality fitout into a thriving business.
